Ingredients:

  • Semolina 1 cup
  • Desiccated Coconut 1/4 cup
  • Flour 1/2 cup
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Whole Eggs 2
  • Vanilla Extract 1 tsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Butter (melted) 1/2 cup
  • Baking powder 1tsp
  • Almonds (blanched and peeled) 1/4 cup

For Sugar syrup:

  • Sugar 12 tbsp
  • vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Water 1 cup
  • Lemon 1 tsp
  • Rose water 1 tsp

Method:
Preheat oven 200c for 10 minutes. Add the wet ingredients one by one – add eggs, butter, curd, and vanilla essence. Mix well and add dry ingredients mix well
Grease the square shape baking tray with butter and add the mixture to it. Garnish with almonds and bake at 180c for 40 mins or until the top layer turns light brown.
Prepare the sugar syrup now in a saucepan. Add sugar water lemon essence and rose water and heat the pan on medium. Once water starts boiling boil it for 5 more minutes. Remove the baking tray from oven. Run the knife around edges and cut it into desired shapes, and then pour sugar syrup. Let it cool for 20 minutes and then you can either serve it warm or chill.
