Ingredients:

  • Corn starch 2 tbsp
  • Water 3/4 cup
  • Chunky peanut butter 3 tbsp
  • Soy sauce 4 tbsp
  • Beef thinly sliced 300gm
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Olive oil 4 tbsp
  • Green pepper julienned 1 medium
  • Julienned carrot 1 cup
  • Crushed red pepper flakes 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic 1-1/2 tsp
  • Rice to serve

Method:
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir in peanut butter and 3 tablespoons soy sauce; set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry the beef, pepper and remaining soy sauce in oil until meat is no longer pink; Add the peppers, carrot and pepper flakes; stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer.
Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened. Serve with rice.

Ingredients:
For stuffing:

  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin ½ tsp
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder ½ tsp
  • Boiled potatoes (mashed) 2
  • Chaat masala ¼ tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) 2 tbsp

 

Other ingredients:

  • Bread (white / brown) 6 slices
  • Green chutney ¼ cup
  • Onion (sliced) 1
  • Tomato (sliced) 2
  • Capsicum (rings) ½
  • Sev ¼ cup
  • Chaat masala 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil to toast

 

Method:

Firstly, in a large wok heat 2 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp jeera,
Saute and allow to splutter.
Further add 2 boiled and mashed potato.
Also add turmeric, chilli powder, chaat masala and salt.
Mix and mash potato well.
Turn off the flame and mix 2 tbsp coriander leaves. Aloo masala stuffing is ready.
Spread green chutney over 2 bread slice.
Top on one bread slice with 2 slices of onion and 5 slices of tomato.
Sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala to season vegetables.
Now spread a tbsp of prepared aloo masala.
Also top with 2 rings of capsicum and sprinkle chaat masala.
Cover with another bread slices
Toast the sandwich with some olive oil to golden and crisp.
Spread ½ tsp green chutney and cut the masala toast sandwich into 4 pieces or 6 pieces.
Finally, sprinkle sev and chaat masala before serving masala toast sandwich.
