Caramel toffee pie Recipe | Zarnak Sidhwa in Food Diaries

Ing :
Crust :
2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
 3 tbsp melted butter
Filling :
 Caramel sauce  ½ cup
2 cups milk
½ tsp vanilla essence
2-3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp milk
2 -3 tbsp vanilla custard powder
8 oz cream
8 oz chocolate toffees, chopped

Method : To make the crust mix melted butter with the graham cracker crumbs and press onto the sides and base of a 9” pie plate or tin and let set. Pour the caramel sauce into the bottom of the graham cracker crust. Chill. Make the custard by heating the milk adding the sugar and custard powder earlier dissolved in cold milk. Mix in the essence and let cool. When cooled add the whipped cream, fold well. Add in half of the chocolate toffees chopped , making sure to leave some for adding to the top of the pie later. Pour mixture onto the crust. freeze overnight. before serving, sprinkle the rest of the toffees on the top then add more of the caramel sauce.  Let sit out for a while before slicing.
