Chop Suey Recipe | Dawat | Chef Abida Baloch

The beautiful mixture of vegetable gives a colorful look to this Chinese recipe. They can be served with rice or noodles.

Ingredients for Chicken:

  • Chicken 500 gm
  • Soy sauce 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper as required
  • Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
  • Potato starch 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp

For sauce:

  • Chicken stock ¾ cup
  • Oyster sauce 1 tbsp
  • Potato starch 1-1/2 tsp
  • White pepper 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For stir fry:

  • Minced garlic 2 cloves
  • Minced ginger 1 inch piece
  • Sliced celery 1 stalk
  • Sliced onions 1 small
  • Julienned carrot 1
  • Chopped cabbage ½ cup
  • Sesame oil 1 tbsp
  • Boiled rice 2 cups

 

Method:
Mix all ingredients of chicken. Then mix sauce ingredients. Now fry chicken in oil then add garlic and all vegetables and stir fry them. In last add sauce ingredients and cook for 1 to 2 minutes and serve them with rice.

Ingredients for filling:

  • Cooked mix vegetables 1 cup
  • Light soy sauce 1 tsp
  • Sugar ½ tsp
  • Sesame oil ½ tbsp
  • White pepper 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For the Dough:

  • Warm water ¾ cup
  • Instant yeast 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • All-purpose flour 2 cups
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Salt ¼ tsp
  • Baking soda ⅛ tsp

 

Method:
Mix filling ingredients and saute them on high flame. Mix dough ingredients knead it and leave it to rise. Now make 13 to 14 balls and roll each ball for about 4 to 5 inch then fill 2 tbsp filling and make buns now prepare all buns like this. Then cook in steam for 15 to 20 minutes and serve.
