Ingredients For Biscuits
- All-purpose flour 2 ½ cups (325 grams)
- Baking powder 2 ½ tsp (10 grams)
- Kosher salt ½ tsp (2 grams)
- Granulated white sugar (optional) 1 tbsp (15 grams)
- Cold unsalted butter, cut into chunks ½ cup (113 grams)
- Cold milk ¾ cup (180 ml/grams)
- Cold egg lightly beaten 1 large (50 grams)
For Sausage Gravy
- Sausages 3 to 4
- Butter 2 tbsp
- All-purpose flour ¼ cup
- Black pepper ½ tsp
- Milk 3 cups
Method
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and place the oven rack in the centre of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, sift or whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar (if using). Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs (use a pastry blender, two knives, or fingertips). Add the milk and lightly beaten egg and mix just until the dough comes together (the texture should be sticky, moist, and still lumpy). Place the dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead gently until it just comes together. Roll or pat the dough to about a 3/4-inch (2 cm) thickness. Cut out biscuits with a lightly floured round cookie cutter. Now in a pan cook sausages over medium heat till light brown take out Sausages in a same pan add butter and flour, salt, pepper cook 1 to 2 min until thickened stir in milk make sire no lumps found cook until thick gravy add in sausages . Now pour into baking dish. Place on the prepared biscuits on top and brush the tops with the milk or cream. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
Ingredients For Red Sauce With Mince Meat
- Minced beef 500 gm
- Carrot 1
- Tomatoes 2 to 4
- Tomato purée 1 to 2 tbsp
- Butter 1 tbsp or any olive oil 1 tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Pepper 1 tsp
- Onion 1
- Garlic 2 to 3 cloves
- Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp
- Mixed herbs as required
- Oil as required
For White Sauce
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Flour 3 tbsp
- Milk 2 cups
- Black pepper (crushed) ½ tsp
- Red chilli flakes ½ tsp
- Mixed herbs ½ tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Cheddar cheese 1 cup
- Cream ½ packet
- Mushrooms ¼ cup
Other ingredients
- Lasagna sheets 1 packet
- Mozzarella cheese for topping
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Method
Prepare red sauce with meat Heat oil and butter at low flame add garlic and onion sauté a bit add tomato puree blanched carrots, salt pepper and Worcestershire sauce cook for a minute or two then blend everything well together now add it to pan again cook. Now in a same pan cook mince beef add back tomato puree sauce now add tomato paste and mixed herbs give for another 2 min and sauce is ready.
White Sauce With Mushrooms
Add butter, mushrooms, 3 tbsp flour and sauté on low flame.
sauté until the flour turns aromatic yet do not change its colour.
now add 1 cup milk and mix well.
mix until the sauce thickens without forming any lumps.
further, add 1 more cup of milk and continue to stir continuously.
mix continuously, until the sauce thickens. if required using a whisk break the lumps.
cook until the sauce turns silk smooth and creamy texture.
now add ½ tsp pepper, ½ tsp chilli flakes, ½ tsp mixed herbs and ½ tsp salt. Mix well making sure everything is well combined. Add cheddar cheese and cream and mixed herbs in the end mix well, turn off the heat.
Now Layering Time
Preheat oven on 180 degrees.
Add red sauce in the base now sheet now white sauce then red sauce lasagna sheet and then white sauce give as much layering as you want top with mozzarella cheese and bake for 15 to 20 min.
Garnish with coriander or soya leaves serve.
